Hugo is a fantastic story teller and makes you feel as if you are really there, "bringing a spark to your 2D" as you would put it. One thing that I love about Hugo is that he doesn't hold back and he tells you exactly how he feels. It's remarkable how it often times seems as though the simplest things in life are the things that make you realize and appreciate all the complexities of life.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06714888330473011912noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6873052184538705750.post-18162009856589522822014-02-08T12:02:41.576-08:002014-02-08T12:02:41.576-08:00I totally love how you put that! I completely agree that Hugo's use of this story delivers home a truth that is hard to understand. I also think that sharing life experiences like this is something that lets us get to know him and his heart.

On a side note, I can completely attest to carrying a notebook being helpful. I'd say go for it. Those blank pages are begging for you to fill them! Plus it's so much fun to look back through at your collected ideas.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00292612547304751625noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6873052184538705750.post-24642598589054861312014-02-08T11:11:40.693-08:002014-02-08T11:11:40.693-08:00It seems that the rawness of the situation really ...It seems that the rawness of the situation really brings out the rawness in his poetry. War itself is a powerful concept and when Hugo reuses the words and phrases that he is acquainted with such as "bombers cluster" it brings us closer to that vividness. Not only is it the vividness of war in general, but to a specific world inside the war. The perspective of the flight bomber. Obviously it's 2D version we see in our minds, but in the elders minds, it's 3D and their stories gives our 2D version a spark of life." That really helped me see what you meant and rang totally true.Mike Lohrehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05832313501793243606noreply@blogger.com
